The robbery suspect who was last year arrested wearing police uniform and allegedly taking part in a gun point car jacking incident has been killed in another robbery attempt on Tuesday.

Ernest Said Nyaki, according to Police reports, was out on bail, having been charged with last year’s crimes, but apparently got involved in another crime that led to his death.

Nyaki together with other three suspects, were involved in a fierce gun fight with the police when a vehicle, a hired Taxi cab, in which they were travelling was stopped at a road block at Kisongo area of Monduli.

Regional Police Commander (RPC), James Kombe, said the gang had hired a Taxi with license number TZJ 225 and were on their way to ambush and rob some businessmen who had attended an auction at Babati.

The police, however, knew of their plan after being tipped off by some good Samaritans and therefore laid the road block near the Arusha Airport.

When the suspects encountered the road block, they realized that, this was a trap and opened fire to the officers who shot back and managed to kill some of the suspects, the RPC said.

The dead suspects were later identified as Peter Alex, Ernest Said Nyaki and the third person who is yet to be identified.

Another suspect, managed to escape and the police took the three bodies to the Mount Meru hospital.

However, when the bodies were being entered into the mortuary, one of the "dead" suspects came back to life shouting, "No I am not dead!"

The suspect who "resurrected" was Peter Alex who received bullet injuries on his head and neck and is currently admitted at the hospital.
