Njake 200 CRC motor rally this Sundayby Happy Lazaro and Staff Writer The Njake 200 CRC motor rally zooms this Sunday, the 4th of May, having been postponed after eight drivers had pulled out of the race last week due to unavoidable circumstances. One of the drivers, Jamil Shabay, driving the Nissan 200SX with Gurvinder Singh, had to pull out of the rally because of the death of his father. Seven more driving teams, some being relatives of the bereaved, had to also follow suit in order to attend the funeral. The general secretary of Arusha Motor Sports Club (AMSC), Shadhab Ismail said, the rally will be held this week with the initial number of 14 cars. The first round, after the General Tyre premises flag off o Sunday morning will cover Usa River, Karangai, Mbuguni, Makiba and Kikatiti a total of 52 kilometres. The second round will spin off at Kikatiti then Usa River, Karangai, Mbuguni up to Mererani back through KIA then Kikatiti again, then Karangai, Mbuguni, Makiba then back to Kikatiti and on to Usa River, covering 42 kilometres. The cars are expected to wind up at Njake petrol station in Usa River, before speeding back to town, then on to the Sunvic yard in Mbauda area for the prize giving ceremony. This rally is being sponsored by General Tyre East Africa and Njake Oils Limited. Other sponsors include Darsh Industries (Red Gold), Sunny Safaris, Sunvic Express, Dania Pools and Ponds plus Golden Rose Hotel. |
