Sports scribe writes off bachelorhoodby Valentine Marc Nkwame
Veteran sports writer, Nassib Kisha Majamba (32), kissed his bachelorhood era goodbye, last weekend, when he was kissing his bride, Christina Humphrey Moshi (26), during a colourful church wedding ceremony. The former Assistant General Secretary of the Tanzania Sports Writers Association (TASWA) Arusha Chapter, Majamba, who also plays for the association’s soccer team, has been writing sports news, current affairs, and reporting on court and crime cases for The Arusha Times and various other national newspapers, for over six years now. Nassib Majamba is also a member of the Arusha Body Builders Association and he recently enrolled with the Njiro- based, Self defense Martial Arts school, Amani Judo Club. Christina works in a Pharmacy store, The Jacaranda Pharmacy and Bureau de Change, located at the Sheikh Amri Abeid stadium. The send off ceremony for the bride, preceded the wedding two days earlier. It took place on Thursday the 24th of April, at Hotel Manor Arcade in Sakina area. The wedding, which was tied at the town parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church (ELCT) coincided with the annual National Union day, held on the 26th of April each year, in reminiscence of the Tanganyika and Zanzibar unification, that resulted into the current United Republic of Tanzania. A total of four weddings took place at the Lutheran parish on that very same, Saturday afternoon. Hundreds of guests including parents, relatives, friends and well wishers, attended the reception party in the school hall of, Saint Constantine International, along Dodoma road, later that evening. The writing seems to be on the wall, for most local bachelor journalists, who are now hurrying to tie the knots. |
