977 Meru Warriors launch new squad

While the year is still fresh, the Arusha based 977 Meru Warriors (previously known as 977 KJ) has recruited its new 2002 squad.

Announcing the 25 new squad, team officials explained that the move was to strengthen 977 ready to tackle the forthcoming 2002 Tanzanian mainland premier league.

Among the 25 new recruits, 11 were in  last year’s squad, five are freelance players, four have been upgraded from the 977 team B and five were poached from other teams.

The poached players are Fulgence Novatus from Pamba FC of Mwanza, Said Chaka who was transferred from Police team of Shinyanga, Bakari Mezani (Coastal Union - Tanga) and Ramadhani Dela from CDA of Dodoma.

Freelance strikers who enlisted in the 977 camp include: Thomas Mapuli, Samuel Kadege, Abdallah Sungura, Joseph Saimon and Maneno Uvuruge.

Those who got stepped up from 977's team B are Juma Seleman, Abdallah Swedi, Bakari Negu and Deo Sanane.

The chips off the old 977 block include Friodoline Kamaze, Alexander Wilson, Charles Milambo, Hamis Mohamed, Abdallah Kambos and Juma Uledi.

Others are Neveline Kanza, Bakari Omari, Jaffery Rashid, Msafiri Kamba and Salum Kidungwe.
