Recipe of the Week

Spicy Deep Fried Prawns

(Serves 4)

Ingredients:

1 packet Super Special Queen prawns,
1 teaspoon Ground Coriander,
1 teaspoon Ground Cumin,
1 teaspoon Cloves-Peeled & Crushed,
2 tablespoon Soy Sauce,
2 tablespoon Vegetable Oil.

For the batter:

50 gm Plain Flour,
1 Egg-Beaten,
Salt,
Black Pepper,
Oil for deep frying.

Method:                                                                   

Place the prawns in a shallow dish and sprinkle the ground coriander, ground cumin, crushed garlic, soy sauce, and oil. Mix well. Cover and leave to marinate on the fridge for at least one hour

In the meanwhile make the batter. Place the flour in a bowl and gradually blend in the beaten egg and just enough water to make a smooth batter.

Season with and leave until required.

In a wok, heat the oil for deep frying.

Drain the prawns from the marinate. Dip in the batter and fry in batches, until golden & crispy.

Garnish and serve.
