Four residents of Moshono face robbery chargesby Daniel Sabuni Four residents of Moshono area in Arusha municipality have appeared before the Arusha Resident Magistrate, Didas Mlay, to answer charges of house robbery and theft of property worth Tsh.2 million. Inspector Athanas Kayambo named the four accused as Wilson Shila (35), Emmanuel Abel (36), Ernest Meliyo (38) and Emmanuel Lokulu (26). Inspector Kayambo read in court, that the four accused had broken into a residential house of one Matilda Abraham in Moshono and stole various household items therein. The robbery too place in the midnight of January 11, 2002, and according to the plaintiff, the culprits made away with a Television set, video player, stereo system and an electric iron all valued at Tsh.2,150,685. According to the prosecutor, the four accused were jointly reported to have had a hand in the night robbery. When these charges were read to them, the four defendants denied but since they all lacked sureties to back their bail, they were whisked back into custody. Their case is expected to come up for mention on January 29 this year. |
