Verses

September 11th

The date tainted with blood
The date that shed tears
Left humankind horrified
And perplexed beyond limit

September 11th a shame to mankind
The climax of the ugliest of deeds
That humankind can breed
Driven by selfishness and malice

The genesis not withstanding
Wounded the world is
Shame upon civilization
And a mockery to humanity
Though a lesson, if ever one
A bitter way indeed

September 11th a scaring blemish
A reminder of immorality
That drives the world
As wealth is pursued with impunity
With viciousness and arrogance

People blown to pieces and flesh
With glasses scattered afar
Souls suffocating
Under debris of steel and smoke
With the Twin Towers of pride
Crumbling to a heap
That remains cursing the evil one
With hands, fingers
Dripping of innocent blood
May it never happen again
Not again anywhere
