Night robbers target home entertainment systemsby Happy Lazaro The thugs who broke into the residential house of Bosco Joachim in the night of July 1, 2002, must have had great cravings for home entertainment systems. The robbery that took place in the Ikaave village of Arumeru district at about 2 hours past midnight had household items worth Tsh. 1 million stolen. Police prosecutor, Mathias Nyange mentioned before the court the stolen items as a Television set worth Tsh.185,000. A stereo music system valued at Tsh.91,000, three video tapes worth Tsh.6,000 and cash money Tsh.726,000 all being properties of Bosco Joachim, the plaintiff. Appearing before the District Magistrate, Aziza Shakale, the two prime suspect of the night robbery were named as Elibariki Isaack (22), and Daniel Christopher (23) both being residents of Ikaave village. The two defendants have however denied the charges and are currently out on bail of Tsh.500,000 each. Their case is expected to come up again for mention on Tuesday the July 30. Also appearing in the same court were two other accused, Swalehe Hussein (32) from Mbauda and Salum Swalehe (33) of Ngarenaro, both being charged with the possession of illegal narcotics that they were found with on July 1. Inspector Nyange told the court being presided by Magistrate Aziza Shakale that, the two were found with 0.04 grams of heroine hydrochloride in the Kilombero market area of Levolosi at about16.00 hours. The two defendants have denied the charges and are still in custody as they could not meet bail conditions. Their case is set to come up for mention on July 18. |
