Mbuya wins Alwin Schmid CupBy Paul Matthysen Young golfer Colman Mbuya fired 43 Stableford points to emerge winner of the Alwin Schmid trophy played at the Arusha Gymkhana Club last weekend. Mbuya who had turned 13 on Friday 14th, brought in a remarkable score of 23 points on the front nine and 20 points on the back nine. Richard Gomes scooped second place on 40 points made up of 19 points in the first nine and 21 points in the second nine. The first nine winner was Paul Matthysen on 21 points while Flumence Mbuya beat Olais Mollel on count back to win the second nine prize on a score of 19 points. The shot of the day came from Habib Yusufali who sunk a hole-in-one on hole number sixteen. Two clubs were recorded by Colman Mbuya, Mathias Joseph, Richard Gomes, Olais Mollel and Paul Matthysen. |
