X-Ray equipment at mount Meru Hospital written offby Valentine Marc Nkwame The X-Ray equipment at the Mount Meru Regional Hospital is no longer functioning and it has been written off, the Arusha Times has found out. Hospital patients in need of X-Ray services are now subjected to either seek them at the Arumeru district hospital or other facilities in Arusha. This proved to be an inconvenience and hassle to some of the 28 surviving victims of the tractor trailer accidents who sustained serious injuries thus in dire need of X-Ray examinations. This reporter found the injured persons stranded at the hospital lobby waiting for a vehicle which was supposed to ferry them to Arumeru hospital. The Doctor in-Charge at Mount Meru Hospital, Omar Chande confirmed that, the X-Ray equipment at the medical centre was so rundown that it was beyond repair. However, Dr. Chande added that, a new equipment has already been secured but still in Dar es Salaam, waiting to be brought to Arusha. Dr. Chande did not say when exactly was the new X-Ray equipment expected to be brought to Arusha. |
