An aftermath of last Sunday’s tragic road accident:Dead sportsmen buried at Sakila sports groundsby Staff Writer As a way of honoring their sporting contributions to the district, the council of Arumeru will give contributions of Tsh.50,000 to each of the grieved families from which, the 10 deceased victims of last Sunday road accident had come. This was revealed by the council director, Bernadette Kinabo who also added that the regional headquarter offices of Arusha had contributed the coffins in which the dead sportsmen were buried. The ten sportsmen were buried last Thursday at the Sakila sports grounds another gesture of respect to the departed Arumeru players. According to the chairman of the funeral committee, Godffrey Pallangyo, the decision to bury the sportsmen at the site was reached following a meeting of both the local elders and the deceased parents. Ten people died, eight on the spot while other 28 sustained serious injuries when the tractor trailer on which they were traveling on, unhooked and overturned in a ditch. The trailer had about 50 people on board some being sportsmen while others were supporters, who were on their way to a soccer match at Kikatiti.
