Basseporte appointed French Consul in Arusha

The coordinator for the Alliance Francaise in Arusha, Marc Germain Basseporte has officially been appointed to be the Honorary Consul of France in Arusha.

His appointment has been approved by the Tanzanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation as acknowledged in a letter with reference number FAC/C.250/68 released by the French Embassy in Dar es Salaam.

According to the letter, the Ministry also avails itself of the opportunity to renew to the French Embassy, the assurances of its highest consideration.

Born in La Seyne Sur Mer, France on the 24th of January 1969, Marc Basseporte came to Arusha in 1989.

His wife, Ruckya Basseporte runs the Le Jacaranda restaurant and together they have two children.

Marc has also been conducting French classes at the UN Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) plus organizing various social and cultural activities in Arusha.
