DANIDA to spend sh. 2 billion on environmentFrom Sharmila Aggrey The Danish Government through the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) will spend Tsh.2 billion to fund the Sustainable Arusha Programme (SAP) in its first phase. Arusha’s District Commissioner, Bertha Mende who is the chair person of the municipality environmental committee said Arusha’s leadership is committed to seeing that the municipality environment is improved and made attractive. She told journalists in Moshi that her district would collaborate with Moshi in various areas aimed at improving the environment. She was in Moshi for a one day visit to see how the municipality is addressing environmental issues. Ms Mende said the Arusha sustainable programme incorporates all stakeholders but the main players are the communities themselves. |
