Museum receives shot in the arm

A resident of Arusha who preferred anonymity has donated garden benches to the Arusha Declaration Museum located at Kaloleni in the municipality. The donation, in memory of the donor’s relatives, was handed over to the curator in-charge of the Museum, Constantine Misago Nyamabondo on February 16.

The curator expressed his gratitude for the contribution which he said would create a friendly environment to the museum visitors.

He called on other individuals, institutions, companies and business groups to channel their donations to other museum needs in loving memory of, among others, Mwalimu J. K. Nyerere, former Prime Minister Edward Moringe Sokoine, former Speaker Chief Adam Sapi Mkwawa, the first President of Zanzibar, Abeid Amani Karume and the late Vice President Dr. Omar Ali Juma.

Services offered by the museum include guided tours within the museum, consultations in history and culture outreach school programmes and space for activities such as workshops, traditional dance and art.
